At this time, the surrounding air cannot be directly supplied to the engine. The air contains certain impurities, and the engine is a very precise mechanical equipment. If it enters directly, the impurities in the air will damage the engine. The air must be filtered by the air filter (air filter element) before entering the engine.

The role of the air filter

When the engine is running, a large amount of air is required. If it is not filtered, the air directly entering the cylinder will accelerate the wear of the piston group and the cylinder. In severe cases, it may even cause "cylinder pulling", which is more serious in dry and sandy environments.

Among the many parts of a car, the air filter is an inconspicuous part and has no direct relationship with the technical performance of the car. However, in daily use, the air filter has a lot of impact on the service life (especially the engine). On the one hand, it avoids the wear of the engine cylinder.
